Mission Statement

The name of this organization shall be Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association, AKA GSSAA.
This is a nonprofit organization under the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any rules pursuant thereto not consistent with Federal, State or Local laws and provisions thereof affecting the conduct and affairs of this organization will be considered invalid

Our Objectives

The purposes shall be: To share knowledge and teach the basics of saltwater fishing concerning the Grand Strand Coastal area to our members; to promote water, fishing and boating safety; and to promote ocean and wildlife conservation.

To associate congenial persons of good character having a common love and appreciation of sport fishing and the ocean environment.

Disseminate through friendly exchange and instruction information concerning boating safety.

Disseminate and distribute information concerning safety when fishing from boat, pier or land.

Promote and encourage saltwater fishing as a healthy sport for individuals, youth and families.

Adhere to and promote compliance to all conservation laws and standards set by Local, State and Federal Governments.

Cooperate with and assist the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism and the U.S. Coast Guard concerning
conservation of resources and promotion of safety.

Participate in and encourage the reporting of any willful violation of any conservation or boating laws.

Discourage the participation in water sport activity and the operation of boats while under the influence of alcohol.


The Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association Proudly Supports the following:

    

Monthly Meetings

Monthly Meeting on the second Thursday of the month at the Myrtle Beach Golf
and Yacht Club beginning at 6:00 pm.  

Meetings include:

• Potluck dinners, raffles and prize drawings

• Signups for monthly species fishing contests (club members only)with good cash payouts

• Opportunity to meet with other anglers and arrange trips, check locations, etc.

GSSAA holds monthly fishing contests targeting specific species for club members only, as well as holding numerous Pier Tournaments, a summer Catfish Tournament, and two All Species Tournaments throughout the year

GSSAA sponsors the Annual Flounder Tournament in Murrells Inlet every spring with a $1500 payout and Tagged Flounder prizes.

The club is very active with family socials supporting two fish frys, a summer club picnic and a Christmas party.

Everyone has a chance to be an active part of an organization that supports Conservation of marine life enhanced fishing opportunities through financial support of various reef programs and financial support to local students through a Marine Science Scholarship Fund established for local students attending CCU.

This and additional fishing opportunities are available for annual dues of only $40.00 for the full year, prorated during the year.

Grand Strand Saltwater Angler’s Association Meetings

If you are interested in attending a monthly meeting of the Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association please call our Past President a few days before the meeting or email below.  

Regular Meetings: 2nd Thursday of each month.

Meeting Time: 7:00 PM. Supper is usually followed by a guest speaker, then our regular monthly business meeting.

Meeting Place: Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Clubhouse, 6851 King Arthur Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 (take Bay Rd. to Blue Heron Blvd).

Dress code: Come as you are. Shorts and tee-shirts are the most popular attire.

Directions to Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Clubhouse:

From the North or South take Route 707 to the lights at Bay Road. Follow Bay Rd. for one mile (towards Enterprise Landing) to the gate house entrance of Myrtle Beach Golf & Yacht Club. Stop at the gate house and tell the guard you are a guest of the fishing club. Then, follow Blue Heron Blvd. straight ahead  about 1 mile to the clubhouse on the left, at the corner of Blue Heron Blvd. and King Arthur Dr. Ample parking is provided around the clubhouse. Enter through the side door on the King Arthur side of the building. If possible, plan to arrive about 10 minutes early.
